Leicester City’s Under-18s moved top of the Barclays U18 Premier League table with a convincing victory over Brighton and Hove Albion at Belvoir Drive on Saturday.

The young Foxes continued their 100 per cent start to the 2015/16 campaign having beaten Swansea City and Fulham in their opening two games.

It was midfielder Elliot Webber who would open the scoring before Harvey Barnes added a second in a first half that saw Brighton reduced to 10 men.

Webber netted again after the break, while strikes from Josh Eppiah, Kairo Mitchell and Admiral Muskwe rounded off a dominant victory.

Reflecting on the win, Under-18s manager Trevor Peake told LCFC.com: “It was a quite even start, maybe we just shaded it, but they were reduced to 10 men in the first half, which didn’t help their cause.

“The numerical advantage doesn’t always mean you’re going to go onto win, but we made sure it did this time, especially in the second half when they were getting a little tired.

“There are a few teams yet to play around us, so it puts us on top, albeit after three games, but there’s obviously a long way to go in the season yet.”

The young Foxes next face a trip to West Ham United on Saturday 5 September before an away fixture against Chelsea the following weekend.

CITY: Yates, Pascanu, Knight, Johnson, Kelly, Sherriff, Dewsbury-Hall, Barnes, Webber, Mitchell, Muskwe
