Leicester City’s Under-18s completed a remarkable comeback on Saturday afternoon, recovering from two goals down to comfortably beat Wolverhampton Wanderers in the Barclays U18 Premier League.

The young Foxes went 2-0 down early in the second period, but turned the game on its head to lead 3-2 at the break, before netting another four goals after half-time.

A hat-trick from midfielder Harvey Barnes, a Kairo Mitchell brace and strikes from Layton Ndukwu and Ethan Hodby saw City kick-off the second phase of their season with a convincing victory.

Under-18s manager Trevor Peake told LCFC.com: “After about 15 minutes we found ourselves 2-0 down and they’d already hit the crossbar as well, so it wasn’t looking too good at that point.

“We’d already shown going forward that we could create chances and in the end we turned it round to be leading 3-2 at half-time.

“We got all seven goals in between the 30th and 60th minute, so we’d virtually won the game with about 60 minutes gone.

“It was a very good performance going forward and it turned out to be a very pleasing scoreline for us. It gave us a chance to look at our work that we do on a weekly basis around their 18-yard box.

“We’ve had a few players move on to the Under-21s such as Admiral [Muskwe] and Darnell Johnson, so it was nice to see other players coming in and performing well.”
