Leicester City will face Barclays Premier League opponents West Ham United in the group stages of this season’s HKFC Citibank Soccer Sevens competition.

The Foxes were drawn in Group D on Tuesday against the Hammers, alongside HKFA U21 and Singapore Cricket Club ahead of the main tournament, which takes place on 20-22 May.

City are one of a number of Premier League teams set to be involved, with Newcastle United, West Ham, Stoke City and Aston Villa at the prestigious tournament, which the Foxes won back in 2013 and have competed in since 2012.

The squad will mostly be made up of stars from City’s Development Squad as they tackle the seven-a-side format, which has provided plenty of excitement across the 16 years that the tournament has been in existence.

This year’s tournament will provide further vital experience for City’s youngsters against teams from England and around the world, with the likes of Marc Albrighton, Liam Moore and Joe Dodoo having previously competed.
