Young Fox Makes England U17s Debut

Young Leicester City defender Simranjit Thandi made his international debut for England’s Under-17s in the U17 Algarve International Tournament out in Portugal this month.

Young Leicester City defender Simranjit Thandi made his international debut for England’s Under-17s in the U17 Algarve International Tournament out in Portugal this month. 

Thandi, who primarily operates at right back, came on as a second-half substitute in the young Lions’ 1-1 draw with Portugal on Friday 5 February, with Tottenham Hotspur’s Samuel Shashoua netting for England in Parchal. 

The young Fox was then handed his full debut on Sunday 7 February, as Steve Cooper’s men drew 2-2 with Germany thanks to Sheffield Wednesday striker George Hirst’s brace in Lagos. 

And there was a third appearance for Thandi on Tuesday 9 February, with the young defender again coming off the bench to represent his nation in the 2-0 defeat to the Netherlands in Parchal.
