Daka sat down following training on Monday to give insight into the trip, which was officially launched over the weekend via an event attended by Foxes stars past and present.

Wednesday’s behind-closed-doors friendly against Bangkok outfit Port FC, meanwhile, will enable the team to get some minutes under their belt in a competitive environment.

“It’s pretty hot and it’s been an amazing session to be honest,” the forward commented in the intense heat of Bangkok’s PAT Stadium. “You can see the way that I’m sweating it was a great challenge and everyone is excited to work, everyone is motivated, and it was a great session.

“I think there’s a balance. There’s running, there’s football, but also a combination of the two, which is interesting because you know even when you’re running, there’s some time to play with the ball.

“We know how much we need this fitness and that this is the perfect time to do so. We need everyone to be fit, everyone to be ready and just to be their level best.”

City were scheduled to face Tottenham Hotspur at Rajamangala National Stadium on Sunday, before torrential weather conditions led to the cancellation of the contest.

“It was a crazy night,” the 24-year-old continued. “Everyone was excited for the game. We saw how the fans turned up in numbers to come and support and have a good time. We were also looking forward to having an amazing game and giving them what they deserve.

“It’s a shame that it didn’t happen but we’re so grateful for the support they showed us, even though when they knew that the game was not going ahead, they stayed back and waited for us. And then we gave them a round of applause, which was amazing. Hopefully next time it won’t be abandoned.

“Everyone knew that it was going to be a high-level game. Everyone was expecting a tough challenge and also for us, it’s the reason why you train.”

Liverpool will provide a Premier League test for City during the Singapore leg of the trip on Sunday (10am BST kick-off) as the squad out in southeast Asia, including new signings Harry Winks, Callum Doyle and Mads Hermansen, continues to take shape for Enzo Maresca’s first pre-season in charge of the Foxes.

The Zambia international added: “You want to test yourself on how far you are in your progression towards the season. It’s a shame we didn’t have that game played but we just look forward to what’s ahead because we can’t keep looking at what we have lost.

“I would say it’s amazing in that we had the opportunity to work in good conditions. Everyone is giving their best. We are all connected, supporting each other, working together and the feeling is amazing around the team. And we just look forward to what’s ahead.”
