Heading into a third successive season in the Barclays Women’s Super League, the Foxes welcomed new signings Janice Cayman and Lena Petermann to Leicestershire, as well as Janina Leitzig who penned permanent terms with City during the summer. The Foxes international cohort of Courtney Nevin, Remy Siemsen and CJ Bott will return at a later date following their FIFA Women’s World Cup campaigns for host nations Australia and New Zealand respectively.

Monday’s schedule saw Willie Kirk’s side undergo medial testing and fitness work inside the medical suite and gym prior to indoor sessions building towards on-pitch grass work which is scheduled to take place later in the week.

City will now press ahead with their first-class preparations for the new season with a number of behind-closed-doors friendlies before travelling to Bristol City’s Ashton Gate on the opening weekend on Sunday 1 October (2pm kick-off).
