Claude Puel’s men have lost just one of their last eight games in all competitions. In the process, they’ve beaten the likes of Swansea City and Everton in the Premier League, and reached the last eight of the Carabao Cup.
Tuesday’s meeting with Tottenham Hotspur is a tough test on paper. Here are your tips for this midweek cracker, from your official betting partner Ladbrokes...
Nailed On...
Goals are on the cards. Leicester have netted in six of their last seven games. Tottenham have plenty of attacking talent – but managed just one clean sheet in nine outings.
Both Teams to Score looks a safe bet at 7/10, while Over 1.5 Goals is very likely at 1/4.
Despite defeat in the last meeting, the Foxes generally have a decent record against Spurs. City have managed a point or better in four of the previous six clashes. That means Leicester or Draw in the Double Chance looks a solid bet at even-money.
Smart Money...
Leicester winger Riyad Mahrez is in good goalscoring form. The Algerian has found the net in three of his previous seven outings, and has scored in this fixture before. You can back him at 14/5 in the Anytime Goalscorer market.
Mahrez and co. have started strongly in recent weeks. Claude Puel’s side have opened the scoring in four of their past six games.
As for Tottenham, they went 1-0 down at home to West Bromwich Albion on Saturday. We like the look of First Team to Score: Leicester at 17/10.
We mentioned two or more goals in this game being a safe bet. However, the best value could lie in a more ambitious angle.
The last five meetings have produced a total of 17 strikes. Leicester have also scored more times than any other side outside the top eight. Over 3.5 Goals is a lively longshot at 15/8.
Long Shots:
The hosts have won four of their prior eight home games in all competitions. As for Mauricio Pochettino’s men, they’ve lost three of the previous seven – including a home defeat to West Ham United. With the visitors hit-and-miss at present, Leicester to Win looks generous at 17/5.
If the hosts are to win, history says they’ll do so by a solid margin. Eight of Leicester’s last ten wins have come by a margin of two or more goals. The Leicester -1 handicap could prove inspired at 11/1.
