Following dramatic Saturday's 1-1 draw at Watford, the Foxes remain third in the top-flight standings with eight games of the 2019/20 campaign remaining.

Tuesday's visit of Brighton will evoke memories of clashes with the Seagulls over recent years - including their last visit to Filbert Way in February 2019.

Following the appointment of Brendan Rodgers as Leicester City's new manager in February 2019, the Foxes sealed a morale-boosting 2-1 success over Brighton on Filbert Way.

With First Team Coaches Mike Stowell and Adam Sadler overseeing matters for the fixture, City got off to the best possible start after just 10 minutes.

Possession was won on the halfway line and Youri Tielemans, then on loan from AS Monaco, instantly located Demarai Gray, who stylishly slotted past Mathew Ryan.

Leicester were playing with a swagger, but had to wait until the 63rd minute for their next goal and it came from a familiar source - Jamie Vardy.

Nice interplay between Tielemans and Ricardo Pereira saw the ball come to James Maddison, who in turn slid in a smart pass for Vardy to run onto a blast into the bottom corner.

While Davy Pröpper's composed finish shortly afterwards narrowed Brighton's arrears, the Foxes held out for a victory which lifted the mood substantially among the Blue Army.

Speaking afterwards, several of City's players revealed that Rodgers had spoken to them in the dressing room at full-time, promising 'special things' to come in future.

An encouraging end to the 2018/19 campaign has been built on under the Northern Irishman's guidance this term, with the Foxes currently sitting third in the Premier League.
