- Leicester City committed to becoming a more dementia-friendly organisation- Dedicated shopping hour to be held in the Foxes Fanstore each month- Initiative will launch on Thursday 15 December (9:30am – 10:30am)- Early onset dementia event to be held on Wednesday 23 November
The dedicated shopping hour will take place on the third Thursday of every month as the Football Club takes steps to become a more dementia-friendly organisation.
The initiative will launch on Thursday 15 December from 9:30am – 10:30am and will be an opportunity for people living with dementia and their carers to have their own private shopping experience.
Furthermore, those attending can also join Leicester City in the Community’s weekly coffee morning in the Community Hub at King Power Stadium (10:30am – 12pm), where refreshments will be provided.
In preparation for the dementia-friendly shopping hour, Leicester City in the Community will be hosting an early onset dementia event in the Community Hub on Wednesday 23 November for people who have been diagnosed with dementia under the age of 65.
Taking place from 6:30pm – 8:30pm, the session will be an opportunity to chat to professionals and browse a range of information stalls, while hearing from people living with early onset dementia and learning about the support available.
