Leicester return to FA Women's Championship action against the Lionesses, aiming for a third straight league victory for the first time this campaign.
The former England youth international revealed that everyone has looked sharp in training and the mood in the camp is positive ahead of City's next away trip.
"We had a few days off which was good to rest after some important league games and then we've been back in this week," Fergusson told LCFC.com. "Training's been really good, everyone's come back fresh and the squad looks really competitive going into the next game. I think it will be a different challenge to what we've had before.
"We've not played them yet this season and they've got a new manager since last season, so you don't know quite what they will bring, but we'll be prepared and we'll just focus on ourselves to get the result."
The ex-Sheffield United striker, who signed from the Blades ahead of the 2020/21 campaign, joined a host of other summer recruits, including several players she knew from time at previous clubs.
Fergusson believes they have helped her to settle in and get to grips with the new environment, while also allowing the new-look Foxes squad to bond quickly in general.
"You have that time on the coach (for away games) that you wouldn't otherwise get and ultimately it is bringing us closer together," the 25-year-old explained.
"It's good to all come together as a group and with lots of new players coming in at the start of the season, we just keep trying to build on gelling as a group.
"I've settled in fine, all the girls from last year have been welcoming and I knew a few when I joined. I played with Millie Farrow at Bristol City, so she's been really supportive for me personally coming in. "And then obviously Sam [Tierney] and Barks (Sophie Barker), I played with them at Sheffield last year, so they are familiar faces within the group." The forward had to bide her time in the opening weeks of the season, but got her first minutes in a Leicester shirt against Crystal Palace, coming on as a 74th-minute substitute in the 4-1 victory. She knows there will be more chances to impress in the coming games, especially given City's busy November schedule, which sees the Foxes play five times in just 17 days.
Fergusson added: "I was really pleased to make my debut last week, I'm working hard, I'm just trying to work on myself and be ready to play when the opportunity comes.
"We've got lots of games this week, I'm hoping to get some more minutes and show what I can do. That's something that we really do have at Leicester, the strength in our squad is really strong.
"It's something that I've not experienced before, so we've got three games in a week but we'll be strong in all of them because we've got such quality in all areas of the pitch. I think it's been a great start, it's what we needed as a new group of players. We had a really good pre-season but it was really important that we took it into the league.
"There's been a lot of expectation around us as a group and we've really stepped up to that and we just take each game as it comes and take the points as we go, but I think it's been huge for us to show what we are about this year."
