Matt Miles says the Leicester City Under-23s showed resilience to come back from behind twice to pick up an on Monday night.
The Foxes were making their debut at Holmes Park in front of a bumper home following and they showcased their ability and determination in the second half after a tough opening 45 minutes.
Goals from Admiral Muskwe, Raul Uche and Layton Ndukwu, from the penalty spot, mean City have put a stop to a frustrating sequence of results and Miles is hopeful they can now use it as a catalyst to push on.
“We went 2-0 down but we got ourselves back in the game in the second half - then we equalised and got back to 2-2,” the young midfielder told LCFC TV.
“We then conceded a sloppy goal and the lads were disappointed but we dug deep and we kept going to get another goal.
“We’re a little disappointed not to get the win but that’s the way it goes sometimes. We haven’t been very fortunate with results in the last couple of weeks.
“Hopefully we can build on this result and keep going to get further up the table. We’re a good set of lads and we work hard for each other which is the way the manager wants us to play.”
Miles says City enjoyed playing in their new surroundings and admits they consider this an opportunity to make Holmes Park a fortress in the coming weeks.
He added: “It’s a nice stadium, the pitch is good and it’s quite narrow which suits our style of play because we like to press teams.
“Hopefully we can make it a fortress and get some results here. We’re going to keep working hard in training and hopefully we can get a few wins and keep performing well.”
