The skipper’s late header at Pride Park on Friday evening with City’s East Midlands rivals, with the replay taking place on Wednesday 8 February at King Power Stadium.
Morgan is hoping the Foxes, who find out who they face in the fifth round on Monday evening should they advance, can turn to their positive home form to see off the Rams .
“We kept plugging away,” the centre back told LCFC TV after Friday’s encounter.
“We knew if we kept knocking on the door, all we would need is one chance to get the goal and fortunately I was there to get that goal.
“We’re still in the hat and we’ve got a replay to take them back to our stadium. We’re strong at home and hopefully we can finish the job off.”
The Premier League champions reverted back to a 4-4-2 formation against Derby and Morgan felt his men looked organised in a familiar stratagem.
The captain added: “We’ve changed it a lot recently and we’ve been trying to find the right formula. We looked comfortable today, so we’ll see if we stick with it.”
