- LCFC Women appoint new Head of Academy- Jennifer Foster joins the Club as Assistant Manager - Goalkeeping Coach Neil Moore added to the backroom staff
Following the launch of City’s Tier 1 Professional Game Academy, the Football Club has appointed Jenny Sugarman as Head of Academy. The experienced coach, who has enjoyed productive spells with West Bromwich Albion and Aston Villa, makes the move to Belvoir Drive to lead on the newly formed role.
The new structure is aimed at driving the long-term development of the women’s game. A commitment shared by all at LCFC Women, whose football operations have been based at the Club’s elite training facility of Belvoir Drive since 2021. The new framework, to which Sugarman adds considerable experience, serves the purpose of developing home grown Academy players that deliver First-Team standards and sustained success.
At First Team level, taking on the role of Willie Kirk’s Assistant Manager is Jennifer Foster, who previously served as the assistant manager at Bristol City during the Robins’ highly successful Barclays Women's Championship title winning campaign in 2022/23.
Qualified at UEFA A Licence level, she joins the Foxes with a wealth of coaching experience and further bolsters the Football Club's first-class coaching network, having held similar senior roles with Birmingham City Women, GoPro Sports and Nottingham Trent University.
Neil Moore joins the Club as Goalkeeping Coach and will now work with Janina Leitzig, Lize Kop and the First Team squad at Belvoir Drive. He arrives from Pontypridd United where he held the title of head of goalkeeping. Moore’s CV is also extensive, having represented Bristol City Women and Everton Women in the Barclays Women’s Super League.
