Following a 5-1 win against Everton on Wednesday evening, City travel to Merseyside to take on the Toffees in a WSL encounter, knowing that a win in the early kick-off (12:30pm GMT) would see them climb to seventh in the standings.
The Foxes camp
Since the turn of the New Year, the Foxes have won two out of three games, with their only loss coming in a tight affair at Pirelli Stadium, as a single goal from Lionesses' star Rachel Daly proved the difference against Aston Villa.
However, before that, City dispatched Derby County 4-0 in the fourth round of the Adobe Women's FA Cup, as Lena Petermann, Janice Cayman and Deanne Rose all found the net at Don Amott Arena, ensuring safe passage to the next round, where they'll face Birmingham City in Burton.
A win over Everton in midweek brings confidence to the team as five different goalscorers, including Shannon O'Brien, who got two goal contributions after returning from injury, all found the net. However, results elsewhere meant Willie Kirk's side exited the League Cup at the group stage, and will therefore be looking for success in different competitions.
The opposition
The Toffees head into the fixture one point ahead of City, winning three and losing six in the first 11 games of the season - last seeing victory in the league when they beat West Ham United 1-0 at Chigwell Construction Stadium before Christmas; Karen Holmgaard scoring the only goal that day.
They have also won twice against Aston Villa, most recently in the FA Cup, and came out on top in the Merseyside derby in October as Megan Finnigan lifted the roof off the away end at Anfield back in October.
There hasn't been one standout performer as such, with Finnigan remaining the top scorer for Everton with three goals, but they are a side that can cause problems with their brave and possession-based style of play.
In the dugout
Brian Sørensen has been the head coach of Everton since June 2022 and has won 14 of his 41 games in charge since he left DBK Fortuna Hjørring in his homeland of Denmark. In his first stint with the Hjørring (between 2012-2018), Sørensen won the league twice, also claiming the Danish Cup once on three occasions with three different teams.
Leaving the Danish side with a spot in the UEFA Women's Champions League, he signed a two-year contract with the Toffees, replacing caretaker manager Chris Roberts, who had been serving in that role since the dismissal of Jean-Luc Vasseur. The Frenchman was successor to Willie Kirk but only lasted in the role for three months.
Last time out
Leicester head into the WSL fixture with a good record against their opponents, having not lost since the first fixture between the two sides last season, and winning on both occasions this term. First of all, in October, a Petermann strike in the second half ensured the win at King Power Stadium.
You only have to look back to Wednesday evening for the last encounter as the Foxes romped home to a 5-1 win under the lights at Pirelli Stadium. Sam Tierney opened the scoring before Rose, O'Brien, Missy Goodwin and Jutta Rantala all got in on the act before Hanna Bennison netted a late consolation goal.
