Claudio Ranieri wants his Leicester City players to show their quality and be prepared to battle for the cause ahead of a crucial run-in of fixtures over the coming weeks.
Following a frustrating  on Sunday, the Foxes now have a two-week spell away from Premier League duties with Emirates FA Cup and UEFA Champions League commitments just around the corner.
City travel to Millwall in the fifth round proper of the FA Cup on Saturday afternoon (3pm kick-off) before an exciting trip to Spain to face Sevilla in the last-16 of European football’s platinum club competition.
Ranieri says it is time for his players to simplify the task at hand and “play for themselves” - and the fans - to enjoy a successful end to the 2016/17 campaign with much still to play for on three fronts.
Sitting down with LCFC TV last week, the boss said: “The players who played well against Derby [in the FA Cup] could play also for the rest of the season, that is normal.
“Now it is important that the players show me their best, show me their professionalism and show their quality for the team.
“Not for me, for the fans. Not for the Chairman, not for me, but for themselves. At the end, for the group. That is important.”
Ranieri hopes City can recapture the intensity which sealed a 3-1 success over East Midlands rivals Derby last week and insists he is always confident in his side’s abilities.
He added: “We have to show the same intensity (against Derby) and we have to show the same attention, the same shape, the same ability, strength, will – everything.
“When you have a positive result, everything is getting better. You are more confident, I am always confident in my players.
“But of course it is important they feel good and get better, believing in their ability and strength.”
