That clash with the Red Devils will be the Northern Irishman's 100th competitive fixture in charge of the Foxes – a period of continued growth and exciting developments for the Football Club.

Just over two years since the former Celtic manager's appointment at King Power Stadium, only two teams (Manchester City and Liverpool) have won more Premier League matches than City in that period.

Rodgers has secured a win ratio of 52.5 per cent with the Foxes, which represents the best record of any full-time manager at either Filbert Street or King Power Stadium across the Club's entire history.

To mark the occasion, as the 48-year-old becomes the 18th manager to reach a century of games at the Club, LCFC.com picks out some of our most memorable games under his guidance...

A last-gasp triumph in Burnley

A week after booking a first home win as Leicester City's manager, Brendan Rodgers oversaw a maiden success on the road with the Foxes on 16 March, 2019 – although it came amid testing circumstances for the visitors in Lancashire.

After the fourth-minute dismissal of centre-back Harry Maguire, for a foul on Jóhann Berg Guðmundsson, City settled with a numerical disadvantage as James Maddison's superb free-kick put them ahead. While Dwight McNeil would level it before the break, Leicester remained resolute.

Just as a dramatic clash looked destined to end with both sides sharing the spoils, as a tempest gathered over Turf Moor, Youri Tielemans' cross was diverted into the net by Wes Morgan, sparking jubilant celebrations in the Cricket Field Stand.

Outwitting the Gunners on Filbert Way

Leicester were completely dominant, enjoying almost 70 per cent possession, as they swept aside Unai Emery's Arsenal on 28 April, 2019. They had to be patient, however, as the Gunners stood firm to frustrate their hosts for long spells.

After Ainsley Maitland-Niles' red card before the interval, though, the Foxes continued to play with swagger, benefitting from an extra man, and they deservedly took the lead when Youri Tielemans headed in from James Maddison's cross on 59 minutes.

Things got even better for Brendan Rodgers' rejuvenated Foxes later on as Jamie Vardy headed into an empty net after his lob rebounded back off the crossbar, before City's No.9 then converted Ricardo Pereira's low cross in stoppage time for his 18th goal of the season.

Our joint-biggest Premier League home win

The Foxes were in lethal goalscoring form for the visit of Newcastle United on 29 September, 2019. After Ricardo Pereira's superb surging run and finish, the Magpies were reduced to 10 men at King Power Stadium as Isaac Hayden was dismissed for a dangerous challenge on Dennis Praet.

Jamie Vardy would go on to net a brace, either side of Paul Dummett's own goal, before Wilfred Ndidi lashed home City's fifth of the afternoon as Brendan Rodgers' Leicester side registered the Club's biggest-ever victory on home soil in the Premier League - a record they later equalled in 2021/22.

That result, which enabled City to climb to third in the Premier League table, meant they had the joint-best defensive record in the division, having conceded just five goals in the opening seven matches.

A magnificent success on the south coast

Brendan Rodgers' men delivered one of the greatest Leicester City performances of all time by equalling the record for the Premier League’s biggest-ever victory after surging to a breath-taking 9-0 win over 10-man Southampton at a rain-lashed St. Mary’s Stadium on 25 October, 2019.

Ben Chilwell opened the scoring after 10 minutes with a goal that involved Saints left-back Ryan Bertrand being retrospectively sent off, before Youri Tielemans doubled their lead with a stylish finish. City, who were 5-0 ahead at full-time, also benefited from hat-tricks for both Ayoze Pérez and Jamie Vardy on the south coast, while James Maddison converted a brilliant free-kick.

As well as elevating Leicester up to second in the Premier League, that result saw the Foxes set a new competition landmark for an away win, while also equalling the record Manchester United set when they beat Ipswich Town 9-0 in 1995.

Eight wins on the spin

For the first time in their history, Leicester City made it eight top-flight wins in a row with a ruthless 4-1 Premier League victory over Aston Villa at Villa Park on 8 December, 2019.

Deploying a diamond formation in the West Midlands, Jamie Vardy put the Foxes ahead at the second attempt on 20 minutes, before Kelechi Iheanacho applied a finish to James Maddison's cross to make it 2-0. Jack Grealish got one back for Villa before half-time, but City remained in control.

Jonny Evans' brilliant header, from Maddison's corner, added a third for the Foxes just four minutes into the second period, before Vardy latched onto Dennis Praet's long ball to finish smartly on a record-breaking afternoon for second-placed Leicester.

Stunning Man City at the Etihad

Following a fifth-placed finish at the end of 2019/20, a season elongated into the summer by the COVID-19 pandemic, fans were still unable to attend as Leicester City delivered a startling performance against Manchester City at Etihad Stadium on 27 September, 2020.

Former Fox Riyad Mahrez blasted the home side in front early on, but Jamie Vardy's well-taken penalty restored parity on the scoresheet, despite the dominance of Pep Guardiola's side. Vardy then put the visitors ahead with a flicked 54th-minute finish after smart play from Timothy Castagne.

He then completed his hat-trick four minutes later with another spot-kick before James Maddison scored a superb fourth for the visitors with an exquisite 30-yard curler. Nathan Aké did pull another goal back for Man City, but Leicester added a fifth as Youri Tielemans converted from the spot.

Banishing the north London blues

A second-half header from Jamie Vardy on 25 October, 2020 saw City register an away win over Arsenal for the first time since 1973, as the Foxes battled to a 1-0 Premier League success at Emirates Stadium.

Vardy was a 60th-minute substitute for the visitors after returning from injury and, with 10 minutes of a tense encounter remaining, he headed in from a cross by on-loan winger Cengiz Ünder after an inventive through ball by Youri Tielemans in north London.

A 1-0 success in the capital saw the Foxes move up to fourth in the Premier League table, with 12 points from their opening six 2020/21 fixtures.

More success in the capital

The development of Brendan Rodgers' Leicester side was on show for all on 20 December, 2020, as the Foxes delivered an early Christmas present to the Blue Army with a superb 2-0 triumph over José Mourinho's Tottenham Hotspur in the capital club's new stadium.

Following Serge Aurier's late challenge on Wesley Fofana in the fourth minute of first-half added time, Jamie Vardy stepped up to convert a penalty for City, before James Maddison saw an effort be disallowed by VAR for offside, after an excellent pass by James Justin.

Boosted by two fine saves from Kasper Schmeichel to deny Harry Kane for Spurs, who also introduced Gareth Bale from the bench, the Foxes made it 2-0 later on as Vardy's header was deflected into Hugo Lloris' net by Toby Alderweireld.

Shocking the champions

Leicester continued to be a menace for the Premier League's established 'big six' on 13 February, 2021, as the Foxes came from behind to secure a magnificent 3-1 triumph over Jürgen Klopp's 2019/20 champions, Liverpool, at King Power Stadium.

An excellent move from the Reds was finished off smartly by Mo Salah in the 67th minute, following a goalless first half on Filbert Way, but James Maddison's free-kick evaded everyone to level the scores with 12 minutes still to play.

A defensive mix-up between Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson and debutant Ozan Kabak, meanwhile, enabled Jamie Vardy to put Leicester ahead shortly afterwards, before Harvey Barnes latched onto Wilfred Ndidi's insightful pass to make it 3-1 to the home side.

Blunting the Blades

Kelechi Iheanacho netted his first Leicester City hat-trick as recently as last Sunday to help the Foxes equal their record for largest home win in the Premier League era in a 5-0 rout of Sheffield United.

Iheanacho put Leicester in front in the 39th minute, tapping Jamie Vardy's cross into an empty net, before Ayoze Pérez marked his return from injury with a superb effort from 20 yards out in the early stages of the second half.

Iheanacho combined with Vardy again for his second of the afternoon, before hitting a lovely low drive into the bottom corner to complete his trio of goals. Ethan Ampadu's 80th-minute own goal, meanwhile, concluded matters for City, who ended the weekend sat in third place in the Premier League.
