  • Leicester City and Brighton & Hove Albion played out a 2-2 draw on Sunday
  • The Foxes came from two goals down late on to snatch a point on Filbert Way
  • Bobby De Cordova-Reid provided the equaliser after coming off the bench
The Jamaica international came off the bench to score an injury-time leveller at King Power Stadium on Sunday, having also had a hand in Jamie Vardy’s goal five minutes earlier, reigniting hope of what seemed an unlikely point after Tariq Lamptey and Yankuba Minteh had established a two-goal advantage for the visitors.
On the significance of his first goal for the Club, which almost arrived in the midweek win of West Ham United five days earlier, the Foxes attacker felt it showed the resilience within the team to maintain their fighting spirit until the end.

“It was nice,” the 31-year-old expressed. “On Tuesday I had a goal chalked off by VAR but I continued to get in the right places and continued to do the right things and today it went the right way. It was a special moment.
“Credit to the lads for sticking to what we needed to do. The game plan was there, we never gave up and thankfully for us we got a point from it. You have to continue to do the right things whether you’re 2-0 down or not.
“You’ve got to keep doing it. We did that and understood what we needed to do. Coming back into the game was obviously good, but we put ourselves into a position where we were 2-0 down. We’ll look at it, analyse it and hopefully learn from it.”
City’s all-time Premier League top goalscorer took his own goal superbly well before unselfishly setting up De Cordova-Reid for a close-range finish in a pressure moment, ensuring Leicester moved five points clear of the bottom three.
An astonishing finish to the game.

The former Fulham forward continued: “I thought he might shoot, but he’s smart enough and composed and he saw the pass for an easy tap-in. Credit to him and the way we won the ball back from Stephy [Mavididi] to find Jamie in that position was also good.”
City remain unbeaten under Ruud van Nistelrooy heading into Saturday’s clash at Newcastle United and De Cordova-Reid believes another week of work on the training ground can only improve the understanding of the new Manager’s ideas and methods.
“We’ve got four points out of two games and we’ll continue to work hard,” he added. “We’ve got a period of time where we can work with the Manager and listen to his ideas and put them into practice so I’m looking forward to it.
“We take it game by game. We always want to put out a performance that we’re happy with. We’ll look to continue to improve every game and it’s nice to put points on the board.”
