The 22-year-old attacking midfielder, a Deadline Day signing from Burnley, wants to make up for lost time after missing well over a year of football due to a serious knee injury and sees City as the perfect place to do just that, harbouring good memories of previous visits to Filbert Way.
“It’s good to see where home is going to be now,” Ramsey said, speaking as he walked out from the tunnel at King Power Stadium. I’m absolutely buzzing. I can’t wait to put that shirt on and cross the white line.
“I’m looking forward to it and can’t wait to see it (the stadium) full. I have played here before in a friendly game after COVID and I was ball boy here for an England game once; I think it was September 2018. Just pulling up I remember the exact same path; it was busy that night and it’s a stadium I can’t wait to play in now.

“I’ve not played much in the last 18 months; it’s been a hard period, so I want to play this season. That’s one of the main reasons I came here, to enjoy my football. The way the gaffer wants to play and how we’re going to set up this year, it’s also something that played a massive part. It was a no brainer for me really.
“I’ve never been so hungry to play football and enjoy it. Guys that have been injured understand that being in the gym and not being on the grass, you take it for granted when you are out on the grass. I’ve been out for so long that my hunger to succeed and improve is so high now and that’s what I want to do.”
Outlining what Foxes supporters can expect from the loanee, who scored five in 11 games in this division for Middlesbrough back in 2023, Ramsey hopes to excite the Blue Army and contribute to a successful season.

The Aston Villa academy graduate continued: “I’m a midfielder who can play on the winger a little bit but more in central areas, in the pockets and I like to create and score goals. I’ve missed those feelings of when it hits the back of the net and when you’ve played a massive part in the team winning.
“The fans will see a lot of creativity and someone who strives off goals and assists. There (at Boro) I was just enjoying my football and I want to get back to that now, that’s what gets the best out of me, that freedom and being myself. I hope I can do that and better.
“The goal is always to be better. I’ve been out for so long, but my ability hasn’t gone and I can’t wait to show the fans what I’m about by getting goals and assists and just help my team-mates to get three points in every game.
“I’ve had a good pre-season and a good off-season to make this happen and now it’s time to make up for the loss of nearly two years. Hopefully I can show the fans that I’m going to give 110 per cent every game and in everything.”

Entering a strong, confident group after picking up nine points from a possible 12 at the start of the Sky Bet Championship campaign, Ramsey is excited to join a winning team, also reflecting on his first day getting to work in Seagrave.
“It’s just a good environment and good vibes,” the England youth international told us. “One hundred per cent it plays a massive part, because you just fit in. It means that everyone is focusing on playing football and another thing is just enjoying it.
“Everyone is happy. Three in four, we’re getting there and need to carry on with that. Everyone knows what our aim is for this season and hopefully we can achieve that. Hopefully now I’m here I can help with that as well.
“Getting to the training ground, everyone tells you how amazing it is, so it was good to see it myself. It’s an unreal set-up so it was good to get the first training session out of the way and meet the gaffer and the coaching staff as well. It was a good first day and many more to come.”
