  • We beat Swansea City 3-1 in the Sky Bet Championship on Saturday
  • Abdul Fatawu scored our second goal at Swansea.com Stadium
  • The winger shared his emotions after full-time in south west Wales
  • He was glad to be able to send the travelling Foxes supporters home happy
Forced to dig in for the three points at Swansea.com Stadium, Jordan James’ excellent opener was cancelled out by an Adam Idah penalty, only for Fatawu to produce a sensational strike of his own to edge the Foxes back ahead, prior to Jannik Vestergaard making sure in the closing stages.
Discussing the importance of our success in south west Wales prior to the international break, ending a run of four successive draws and lifting us to third in the Sky Bet Championship, the winger reiterated what such a result means to the group.

“It feels amazing and it’s good to be back to winning ways again,” the Ghana international told us. “As well it’s a good feeling to get the win before [going away with] the national team.
“It’s good that we got the win today and we go to the national team, focus on that and then come back stronger and keep going. It always feels good to win games and feels bad to lose games.
“I said it last week. It’s good when you take points out of games because we need them as the season goes on. With the energy in the dressing room, everyone feels happy. It’s great getting the three points.”

Just under 2,000 Foxes fans made the seven-hour round trip across to Wales and Fatawu was keen to make it a worthwhile journey, with his third goal of the season almost followed by an even more spectacular effort from the halfway line.
The 21-year-old explained: “It’s always good to make them happy and a great feeling as well getting the win when you go away because you need to do everything to make them (the fans) happy. They are feeling this moment as they go home and it’s a great feeling.
“It was just an amazing feeling [to score]. This was what I wanted and it went in again. I just feel happy, I didn’t know where to go. The only way to celebrate was to come to the bench, because they give us more support.
“(For the effort from the half-way line), I didn’t have a doubt because I’ve scored a couple of goals like this and when I got it, I didn’t think twice because I knew I could get it. It was unlucky that it hit the crossbar.”
