Armed with sacks of gifts – funded by Leicester City’s First Team squad and the Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha Foundation – the ex-Foxes duo were in Glenfield to show our appreciation for the work which LOROS does to care for people in our community.
LOROS’ comprehensive services include inpatient care, home outreach, day therapy, counselling and complementary therapies, all aimed at enhancing the quality of life for patients and offering support to their families.
This visit was a chance to deliver a personal thank you to the staff whose commitment to compassionate, dignified care shapes everything LOROS stands for. Christmas brings joy to many, but it can also be an emotional time for those receiving care – and for the dedicated professionals who give so much of themselves to deliver it.
Speaking this week, the Birch said: “It's that time of year when we do our visits to hospitals around Leicestershire to spread some festive cheer to those who need it most.
“Ali and I went along to LOROS to give out little Christmas gifts to all the hard-working staff as a thank you from our Football Club for all the magnificent work they do. I haven’t been able to visit recently so it was great to get round as one of their patrons and nice to see the nurses who have cared for me over the years. I’d like to extend both my own and the Club’s deep gratitude for everything which LOROS continues to do in our region.”
