The Premier League 2 clash went the way of the Eagles who emerged as 2-0 victors at LCFC Training Ground courtesy of a goal in each half from Ademola Ola-Adebomi and Hindolo Mustapha in our first U21s fixture of the calendar year, leaving City 15th in the 26-team PL2 standings.
“It was a good game, but we should have done a bit better, to be honest,” the full-back admitted, speaking after the tight encounter in Seagrave. “In the first half, we weren’t at it, but in the second half I thought we fought hard but didn’t get the result.
Battling hard in Seagrave.

“The game was quite tight, a bit of a basketball game, but the quality wasn’t there. We can be much better as a team. We weren’t clinical in the final third and it was just a bit of sloppiness in possession.
“You just have to run more, run harder and it was a bit icy, so you have to be wary, but it’s the same game.”
Evaluating the jump from Under-18s football, Aluko referenced the need to be at the top of his game at every given opportunity and also take the learnings from the first half of the campaign.
“It’s been very good but it’s quite challenging,” the 18-year-old continued. “Everyone is a bit more physical than when I was an Under-18, but the same as that, I just try my best. I can definitely [learn] from the more experienced players.
“Sometimes rather than being full on, it’s about being calmer. Against Blackburn, I got a red card and speaking to the captain after, he said I just needed to be a bit calmer. I also spoke to Leon [McSweeney] and he said that it’s a great game to look back on and learn for next time.”
