French full-back Woyo Coulibaly completes Leicester City transfer
The 25-year-old joins us from Serie A outfit Parma
Deal is subject to Premier League and international clearance
The highly regarded 25-year-old has impressed over the past three seasons in Italy, making 88 appearances in all competitions and playing a key role in Parma’s promotion to Serie A last term.
He told us: “It’s an honour to be here. I feel very good, very welcomed and the training ground is very impressive. There’s been a lot of impressive players at the Club. It’s going to be a challenge in the Premier League but one that I’m very much looking forward to.”
Getting to know his new surroundings.
Our newest recruit was born in Gonesse, France, and started his career with Le Havre, progressing through the youth ranks to sign his first professional contract in June 2019.
After making his Le Havre debut in August 2019, Coulibaly established himself as one of the most promising young defenders in France, earning a move to Parma in July 2021.
Known for his explosive pace and tenacious tackling, along with an ability to contribute to attack, his progress has continued in Italy with a series of dynamic displays, culminating in Serie B title success in 2023/24.
This season, Coulibaly has played 14 times for I Gialloblu in Serie A, and will link up with his new team-mates later this week as they prepare for a home Premier League fixture with Fulham on Saturday afternoon.
