  • Our Armed Forces Coffee Morning took place at King Power Stadium earlier this week
  • The free event was supported by the Royal British Legion, SSAFA and Veterans Mental Health & Wellbeing Service
  • Former City player Richie Norman was also present to speak about completing his National Service
  • You can now bid on signed player shirts worn during LCFC Men and LCFC Women Remembrance fixtures
The morning brought together members of the local Armed Forces community for coffee, conversation and connection prior to our Remembrance fixture against Middlesbrough on Tuesday, for which attendees were offered complimentary tickets, with a series of tributes and initiatives in partnership with military charities on the night.

The relaxed and inclusive event celebrated our continued support for the Armed Forces community, providing an opportunity to meet fellow members of the Armed Forces family, share experiences and learn more about the range of support services available locally.
Several guest speakers were present, representing key organisations that provide vital assistance to veterans and serving personnel.
These included Carl Pickering, County Vice Chair at the Royal British Legion, Andrew Davies from the Veterans Mental Health & Wellbeing Service, Jacob Shell, Community Engagement Manager (Central Region) at Soldiers, Sailors & Airmen's Family Association and Kev Bland from The Leg Up Project.

Club Historian John Hutchinson also introduced Richie Norman, twice an FA Cup finalist with City in 1961 and 1963 and member of Leicester’s famous ‘Ice Kings’ side, who shared stories from his National Service experience, speaking about serving in The Royal Signals Corps in 1958.
A reminder that signed players’ shirts worn during LCFC Men and LCFC Women Remembrance fixtures are now being auctioned through Match Worn Shirt to raise funds for the Poppy Appeal.
