From Championship winners and a summer of change, to fighting for their Premier League status, it's been a long and challenging year, but with plenty of positive moments along the way.
As we see in the New Year together, let's take a look back at the key events from the last 12 months...
Starting the year with a bang
Tom Cannon fired City into the new year with a brace over Huddersfield Town.
Tom Cannon fired City into the new year with a brace over Huddersfield Town.
The first day of 2024 saw Leicester City Football Club join together at King Power Stadium for a Championship test against Huddersfield Town, with the push for promotion well and truly on.
Seeing out a 4-1 victory on home soil, striker Tom Cannon, who is currently on loan at Stoke City, netted twice in the fixture as Ricardo Pereira and Stephy Mavididi also found the target.
An away win over Millwall in the Emirates FA Cup followed five days later, before a tough league defeat to Coventry City in the M69 derby. But the Foxes bounced back to go six unbeaten throughout the month of January and into February, edging them closer to their target of an immediate return to the top flight.
It wouldn't be without it's challenges though, as City would go on to win just one more league game before the start of April.
Straight back up as champions

Two wins and two losses from the first four games of April put the title charge at risk, but following a difficult night in Devon, which saw Leicester lose out 1-0 to Plymouth Argyle, they rallied to two consecutive wins; the second of which saw fan favourite Abdul Fatawu score his first career hat-trick in a resounding 5-0 win over fellow promoted side Southampton.
These three points put the Foxes at ease and, full of confidence, they made the trip to Deepdale with a massive following behind them, set to face Preston North End knowing a win would confirm their promotion.
Jamie Vardy, who returned 20 goals through the Championship campaign, netted twice on a fantastic evening, with Academy graduate Kasey McAteer poetically rounding off the scoreline just past the hour mark.
With celebrations going long into the evening, Leicester's ambition had been fulfilled, and despite a 2-0 loss to Blackburn Rovers on the final day, the Foxes lifted the Championship trophy for a record eighth time on Filbert Way.
Premier League preparations begin

The summer of 2024 proved that even as champions, returning to the top flight of English football would be no easy task, as a change at the helm, followed by the departures of key players including Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, who followed Enzo Maresca to Chelsea, and Marc Albrighton's retirement, had to be counteracted.
Leicester brought in seven new faces, along with the positive news of Fatawu's permanent arrival, keeping him in the East Midlands after an impressive loan spell which saw him register 19 goal involvements in blue.
Bobby De-Cordova Reid, Caleb Okoli, Oliver Skipp, Jordan Ayew and Bilal El Khannouss all arrived on long-term deals, while youngster Facundo Buonanotte and striker Odsonne Édouard came in on loan.
A challenging start to life in the top flight

Picking up points against Crystal Palace and Everton, Leicester had to wait until early October for their first victory in the new season, beating Bournemouth 1-0 thanks to a goal from Buonanotte on Filbert Way, who was quickly showcasing his talent to the Foxes faithful.
Like buses, their next followed immediately afterwards, when City came from behind to stun the Saints on the south coast, who had taken the advantage through first-half goals from Cameron Archer and Joe Aribo.
Buonanotte, once again on the scoresheet, sparked Leicester into life early on in the second half, before the ever-reliable Vardy levelled things up from the penalty spot. A 98th-minute winner from Ayew completed a remarkable comeback at St. Mary's Stadium.
A 1-1 draw with Ipswich Town in November would take the points tally up to nine, before a managerial change saw Ruud van Nistelrooy appointed.
A new era
Ruud van Nistelrooy was named Leicester Manager in late November.
Ruud van Nistelrooy was named Leicester Manager in late November.
Having impressed during his interim spell on the sideline for Manchester United, the Dutch manager took on the responsibilities of leading Leicester to safety in their first season back since promotion.
Things got off to a flyer for the former Man United striker as Leicester beat West Ham United 3-1 in front of his new fan base; Vardy, El Khannouss and Patson Daka all on the scoresheet.
The Foxes fortune continued that weekend as they drew 2-2 with Brighton and Hove Albion; De Cordova-Reid scoring a late equaliser on Filbert Way.
Since then, Leicester have failed to pick up another point but recently put in a spirited performance at home, which saw them lose 2-0 to current champions Manchester City.
Currently in the bottom three, with 14 points collected, the Foxes will be hoping to kickstart their New Year when they face Aston Villa on Saturday afternoon at Villa Park (3pm GMT kick-off).
With plenty of football to still be played, van Nistelrooy and his coaching staff, along with the unwavering support from the City crowd, will be fighting to preserve the Club's Premier League status come the end of May.
