EFL Trophy Group Stage draw confirmed for Thursday 25 June
Draw to take place live on Sky Sports from 2:30pm
Leicester City grouped with Walsall and Stevenage in Southern Group B
One Premier League Under-21 team to join each group

The Group Stage will be split into 16 regional groups of four teams, with eight competing in the Northern region and eight in the Southern region.

Our Men’s First Team have been placed into Southern Group B alongside Stevenage and Walsall, and will be joined in Group B by one of the eight Southern Premier League Under-21 teams invited to compete in the 2026/27 edition of the competition.

EFL Clubs have been placed into pre-determined groups prior to the draw, with the aim of minimising travel time and maximising player recovery. Group Stage matches will commence in early September, with specific dates to be confirmed on LCFC.com following the EFL’s Fixture Release Day on Thursday 25 June.

COMPETITION FORMAT

The top two from each group progress to the knockout stages, with EFL Trophy fixtures remaining regionalised until the quarter-final stage. Matches level after 90 minutes will be determined by penalty kicks up to, and including, the semi-final stage.

A period of 30 minutes of extra time will be played in the final should the match be level after 90 minutes. If still level at the end of extra time, the winners shall be determined by penalty kicks.

All fixtures are set to be shown live on Sky Sports in the UK. Ticket details and further fixture news will be confirmed on LCFC.com in due course.
