Ahead of Fixture Release Day at 12pm BST on Thursday, we’ve calculated the closest and furthest away ground we’ll visit in 26/27, as well as every other stadium in-between.
In total, the 23 away grounds we’ll attend in Sky Bet League One will tally up a distance of just over 4,000 miles across England's road network, less than the near-5,000 miles covered last term.
From here in the Midlands down to Devon’s south coast, we’ve triangulated the position of every opponent’s stadium, working out who is closest, and which games might require a stop-over…
We have several short distances in the offing this season. The shortest of those round trips will see us cover a mere 64 miles, heading to Nottingham to face Notts County at Meadow Lane – the Magpies newly promoted to the third tier.
Not far behind, Burton Albion’s Pirelli Stadium is a fairly short 78 miles to travel to and from, making it the second closest ground we’re visiting in this campaign. Peterborough United and Mansfield Town are also within a 50-mile radius of Filbert Way, meaning there will be four stadiums the Blue Army can venture to in less than 100-mile round trips.
At the other end of the scale, it may not come as too much of a surprise that Plymouth Argyle’s Home Park will be our furthest journey, by some distant in fact, with a whopping 484 miles required in the tank to get to Devon and back.
Next on the list, Blackpool will welcome Foxes fans making the 296-mile round trip to the Lancashire seaside resort. Heading in the opposite direction but almost as far away, it’s 138 miles south, a 276-mile round trip, for the meeting with newly-promoted Bromley at Copperjax Community Stadium.
A couple of trips to Yorkshire complete the top-five furthest away, with Bradford City’s Valley Parade (220 miles) just slightly further than the 192 miles to get to and from Accu Stadium, the home of Huddersfield Town, a ground we visited just last season in the Carabao Cup.
Please note that distances, calculated in miles, were worked out using the quickest route available from King Power Stadium via road networks at the time of publish.
