Over in Africa, Jordan Ayew is once again in the Ghana squad for a double-header of 2026 World Cup qualifiers, with the Black Stars heading into matchday seven sitting top of Group I, holding a three-point lead over Comoros.
Facing Chad at Stade Olympique Maréchal Idriss Deby Itno on Thursday afternoon (2pm kick-off), a home fixture against Mali comes next on Monday 8 September, back at Accra Sports Stadium (8pm kick-off).

In the youth age groups, Ben Nelson, Jeremy Monga and Louis Page have all earned England call-ups this week. Nelson and the Under-21s face the long trip to Kazakhstan next Monday, kicking off the new UEFA U21 EURO qualifying campaign under Lee Carsley at Ortalyk Stadion (4pm kick-off).
