  • Brighton & Hove Albion Women are the visitors to King Power Stadium on Sunday
  • The Barclays Women’s Super League action kicks off at 3pm with tickets still available
  • There’s international involvement for several LCFC Men stars and Development Squad players
There’s a return to the Barclays Women’s Super League for Amandine Miquel’s side this Sunday, taking on Brighton & Hove Albion at King Power Stadium (3pm kick-off), with tickets remaining available to purchase for the battle with the Seagulls.
Positioned 10th in the WSL, we hold a three-point cushion to the relegation zone following away defeats to Manchester United and Chelsea, while the South Coast outfit sit fifth under the management of Dario Vidošić.
We warmed up for the fixture with a comprehensive 3-0 success over Sheffield United in a mid-season friendly at Belvoir Drive, which included a goal from January signing Karla Torres and vital minutes for several players in the squad.
It was narrow 1-0 defeat for the Foxes in the reverse fixture.

The Premier League, on the other hand, takes a break this week, with LCFC Men’s next assignment a trip to Etihad Stadium to face Manchester City on Wednesday 2 April (7:45pm kick-off). The Foxes lost out to Manchester United at the weekend and matches are running out for us to climb out of the relegation zone, with a nine-point gap to Wolverhampton Wanderers in 17th.
On the international stage, meanwhile, the likes of Wout Faes (Belgium), Mads Hermansen and Jannik Vestergaard (both Denmark) are in UEFA Nations League action, with Wilfred Ndidi (Nigeria), Jordan Ayew (Ghana) and Bilal El Khannouss (Morocco) all set to play in FIFA World Cup qualifiers. There’s also CONCACAF Gold Cup qualifiers for Bobby De Cordova-Reid’s Jamaica.

Over in Premier League 2, a 3-2 success over West Ham United at Rush Green on Friday night saw our Development Squad soar up to sixth in the standings. A fifth successive PL2 victory, the side coached by Leon McSweeney have now collected an impressive 30 points from 18 matches.
Resuming with a home fixture against West Bromwich Albion on Monday 7 April (7pm kick-off), Development Squad winger Logan Briggs is on international duty before then, having been called up to Wales Under-21s squad for their friendlies against Andorra and Sweden.
Across in U18 Premier League South, our Under-18s suffered a rare defeat, losing out 4-3 at the end of a seven-goal thriller against Arsenal at the weekend. It ended a streak of four games unbeaten prior to resuming duties at sixth-place Fulham next Saturday, where a win would move the young Foxes to within a point of the Cottagers.
