For our Men’s fixture against Ipswich Town on Saturday 13 December and LCFC Women’s game with London City Lionesses on Sunday 14 December, our front-of-shirt sponsorship will be dedicated to Leicester Hospitals Charity - shining a light on their urgent appeal for the Children’s Intensive Care Unit (CICU) at Leicester Royal Infirmary.
Right now, inside CICU, families face the unimaginable. Parents sit by their children’s bedsides, hour after hour, as they receive critical, life-saving care. They are in the best possible hands - but reality for parents is often one of exhaustion, worry and uncertainty.
With only three small bedrooms available for up to seven families, many parents have nowhere suitable to rest. Rooms must be vacated early each morning, leaving them to sleep in waiting rooms, play areas or upright in uncomfortable chairs.
They stay close because they must - but too often without dignity, privacy or a safe place to store their belongings between the long days and nights on the ward.
This Christmas, you can help to change that.
Leicester Hospitals Charity is aiming to raise £32,500 to create a much-needed parent lounge on CICU - a space that can be accessed at any time. A place to rest, recharge, take a breath and stay close to their child without being far from the care they need.
Your donation could help fund:
A comfortable, private lounge for parents to find respite
Secure storage and rest facilities available 24/7
A kitchenette for hot drinks and simple meals
A space that provides dignity, comfort and calm - all within steps of their child’s bedside
Why your support matters?
Over 900 critically ill children are treated on CICU every year
Only three basic rooms are currently available to parents
Families may spend days, weeks, or even months on the ward without any dedicated space of their own
By uniting behind this appeal, the Club and its fans can make an enormous difference to hundreds of families in Leicestershire going through the toughest moments of their lives.
As our teams proudly wear Leicester Hospitals Charity on their shirts this weekend, we invite supporters to give what they can and share the appeal far and wide.
Every donation - big or small - helps build a space of dignity, comfort and hope for parents who refuse to leave their child’s side.
