The Socceroos were within seconds of sealing a win over the five-time FIFA World Cup winners after a superb free-kick from Sporting CF’s Nestory Irankunda in the 68th minute of the contest at Queensland County Bank Stadium.

However, in the fifth minute of added time, their illustrious visitors managed to find a last-gasp equaliser through AFC Bournemouth attacker Rayan, levelling the scores in Townsville.

Foxes centre-back skippered his side throughout and could be in action once more when the two nations face off again on Tuesday at Suncorp Stadium in Brisbane (11am kick-off).

Also on Thursday, Dai Cornell, Wes Burns and Liam Cullen were all in the Wales squad which narrowly lost 1-0 to Portugal in the UEFA Nations League.
