We took a trip to catch up with the Leicester City loanee, who is enjoying a beneficial taste of first team football north of the border this season.
Playing in Scotland’s Premiership, Henry is currently experiencing what it’s like to be away from home, and the difficulties and joys that brings both on and off the pitch.
Meeting up at a hotel just outside Falkirk, the Academy graduate talked us through his first few months in central Scotland, and how he’s been adjusting to adult life, and the increasingly cold climate.
“I’m good, I’m enjoying it,” Cartwright told us. “The football is a lot different up here, but I’m enjoying it. The last couple of weeks have been cold – I’ve got the woolly hats out now!

“Scoring against Rangers has been my biggest achievement to date, but it’s a nice place with good people.
“I’ve never really lived away from home, so this is my first time, but I’m living with Fil (Filip Lissah), who is on loan from Swansea, but we get the Hello Fresh orders in and take it in turns cooking. There’s a coffee shop around the corner and we’re locals now.
“Even just putting a different top on in the morning for training, it’s weird when it’s not got a Leicester badge. I’m used to it now but, at first, it was very different because I’ve been at Leicester since I was eight.
“I’ve never been the new person in the changing room, until now, but I’ve settled in and I’m doing well.”

Eager to make an impression in the Scottish Premiership, Carwright went on to provide a review on how it differs from Academy football in England.
He also spoke about his team-mates and what it’s like being the new kid in the changing room for the first time since he was eight years old.
“[Senior] Scottish football is very intense, compared to what I’m used to in Leicester [with the Academy],” the midfielder explained. “I was used to keeping the ball and dominating possession in the opponent’s half, and up here you do want to do that, but when they press, they sprint at you at 100 miles an hour.
“Playing senior football, you get more of a cutting edge in terms of understanding how to win, rather than just focusing on play style and copying what the First Team do.

“To start with, I think I was a bit quiet in the changing room but as time has gone on, I’ve started to just be me. I really get on with Ryan Graham, who is the oldest in the team. Everyone always has that banter, no matter how old they are.
“Sometimes the older ones are worse for it! I wouldn’t say I’m the joker; I’m still defrosting on that one, but at times I’m still trying to understand their accent!”
Relishing the opportunity to play in front of a passionate, and loud, crowd at Falkirk Stadium, the conversation moved on to what he labels a career highlight so far, scoring an equaliser against the 55-time Scottish champions, Rangers.
Hitting the ball with some sting from the edge of the box, having won it back himself, the 20-year-old wheeled off in celebration, not quite knowing what to do with himself, and he strives for more moments like that during his time with the Bairns.

“I’ve been taking to the fans really well, and it’s nice to see they support you so quickly,” Cartwright continued. “I appreciate everything they do. Even against Rangers when I scored against them, I got some credit from them and the Manager.
“It took a little deflection but it’s still my goal. I got the ball, and I’ve hit it and I’ve tried to hit it the ‘keepers near side, but I’ve fallen over as I’ve hit it, so I just heard the crowd scream.
“I didn’t know where to run or where to look; I’m not really a goalscorer but it was just an incredible feeling and I hope there’s more of them to come.”
