Hugo De Lisle and Will Daniels met pupils and staff at their former school
Our Academy players watched the school’s football team train and spoke to the next generation of young players
They also caught up with former coaches and teachers who supported them during their time at Repton

Our Academy talents were given a warm welcome during their visit, taking the opportunity to catch up with former teachers and football coaches who supported them during their school years.

They also met the school’s football team, watched a training session and spent time speaking with pupils about their own experiences of playing football and progressing through our Academy pathway.

For Hugo and Will, the visit provided a chance to return to a familiar setting and reconnect with some of the people who played a part in their early development both on and off the pitch.

Speaking to LCFC.com, Hugo said: “It feels really good to be back. I made a lot of friends here and have loads of good memories. I’ll never forget being at Repton and it was good to see some of the football coaches who helped me.

“Everybody at the school during my time here was very kind to me and they treated me so well. They made me feel very welcome and helped to give me a lot of like skills.

“I had to work hard and earn my right to play football. They gave me the foundations to become a footballer which has really helped me on my journey with Leicester City.”

The pair also took part in photographs and conversations with pupils, discussing life as a professional footballer and their journeys since leaving the school.

Their visit highlighted the important role schools and coaches can play in supporting young players as they pursue their footballing ambitions, while also giving Hugo and Will the chance to show the current pupils where their own football careers began.
