The City striker reflected on the draw at Portman Road
Bristol City are next up for the Foxes on Tuesday night
The forward’s third goal of the league campaign saw the visitors ahead 39 minutes in at Portman Road, and while Kieran McKenna’s side did equalise in the second half, it could prove to be a valuable point.
We remain 22nd in the Sky Bet Championship at present, one point adrift of West Bromwich Albion, ahead of a busy week in the schedule, with Bristol City and Queens Park Rangers to come.
“It was a tough game and I think the first half was really good,” the Zambian reflected after full-time. I think we started well, had a bit of control in the game and we managed to get a goal from the set piece.
“I just saw the flight of the ball and it had so much pace on it, so I just thought I needed to get good contact on it, direct it and that’s what I did. Thankfully it went in! Because of the spin that was there, it helped it to go in.
“I was just hoping the goalkeeper didn’t catch it and put a hand on it. As it left my foot, I could see it, so I started running already. I thought it was going to be a goal and it was a beautiful goal.”
The hosts hit back after the break, levelling with just over a quarter of an hour to play through Sindre Walle Egeli, but City held firm in the closing stages to see out the draw and earn a point on the road.
It’s now back-to-back home games to come, with the Robins up next at King Power Stadium tomorrow evening, before welcoming QPR to Filbert Way on Saturday afternoon.

The 27-year-old continued: “We knew the second half was going to be tough, but I think we could have done more because we sat back a lot and it didn’t really help us. Hopefully going forward we are going to improve on that.
“We knew it was going to be very tough in the second half and I think we really did well as a group. We know it’s not the best result we could have hoped for, but it’s a big point for us going forward. I think it will help us in the next games.
“It’s a good point for us but also we have to look back to this game and work on the things that we have to work on, because there’s a lot, especially going into the next game.
“It’s coming very quickly and it’s a home game where we’re going to need our fans even more and we’re going to do our very best to make sure we improve even more in our performances at home.”
Daka believes the Foxes showed the fight and character which will be required in the 10 matches remaining between now and the end of the season, having been backed by 1,800 of the Blue Army in the away end in Suffolk.
“You can see within the group we are fighting for each other,” he added. “We know we’ve got each other and the fans were brilliant, they helped us to dig in. It was a tough game, against a good side, and their support really helped us to keeping finding that extra push.
“It felt like there were even more than that [number of fans], to be honest. They were brilliant and helped us a lot from the word go until the end. They kept on pushing us and we appreciate the support that they give us every game.
“We know it’s a difficult situation right now but we’re going to give our best every time. We’re going to make sure we do everything that we can do to make them proud.”
