  • Leicester City were beaten 3-0 by Newcastle United in the Premier League
  • Jacob Murphy (2) and Harvey Barnes scored the goals for the Magpies
  • Full-back James Justin provided his analysis of the home defeat
Three first-half goals led to the Magpies claiming all three points at King Power Stadium, with Jacob Murphy’s double inside the opening 11 minutes and a Harvey Barnes goal enough for Eddie Howe’s men to return to the North East having completed a league double over the Foxes.
As for City, it’s eight Premier League defeats in a row without scoring a goal, a streak which Justin believes is indicative of the current shortage of confidence within the team.

“We’re lacking a bit of confidence obviously from the run that we are going on and we’re shooting ourselves in the foot at the start of games,” the defender commented following full-time on Filbert Way. “It’s hard to get back from that.
“You can talk as much as you want about keeping your heads high when you concede early and to keep fighting, but it feels like groundhog day. Every game we’re doing the same thing and it’s definitely a rut that is hard to get out of. It's definitely a difficult moment.”

An improved second-half showing wasn’t enough to trouble Newcastle’s lead, or indeed the scoreboard, with the full-back offering an honest assessment of the situation as it stands, with seven games remaining to give everything and leave nothing on the pitch.
“To be honest, from the first-half performance that we put out, there's not a lot we can take from the game,” the 27-year-old explained. “The lads who came on brightened us up a little bit, but that’s the only positive that we can take.
“I just feel like we are a bit disconnected from everything around us at the moment. It’s another game of conceding lots of goals, not scoring and it's disappointing. It’s hard to swallow.”
