We head to Swansea.com Stadium on Saturday for a meeting with Swansea City
Jordan James previewed the 3pm BST kick-off in the Sky Bet Championship
The Wales midfielder scored his first goal for the Club in midweek against Wrexham
The Rennes loanee is striving for more after picking up four successive draws
The Deadline Day loan signing from Rennes has settled in quickly to life at Leicester and it’s a division he knows well after spending the majority of his career at Birmingham City. Now, though, it’s full focus on matters here at Leicester City, with James hitting another milestone in the midweek draw against Wrexham.
A controlled first-half strike under the lights at King Power Stadium represented his first goal for the Club, finishing off a well-worked move by arriving from deep after linking up with Harry Winks and Patson Daka.
“It was a proud moment for me and my family,” the loanee told us this week. “I’ve watched it back a few times! The first one is always tough to get when you come to a new club. It’s always difficult so it’s nice to get it early and hopefully many more to come.
“I just saw Winsky had the ball and with the quality that he has, I knew he’d find me in the pocket and I was alive. I was able to link with Pato and get in and then it was all about being cool, calm and collected.
“I was able to check my shoulder and saw the centre-back drawing out quite aggressively. As soon as he did that, I knew there would be space in behind him and I was able to find it.
“It was an introduction to what I am about – arriving late, stretching it in behind but also being able to play in the pocket. It was a perfect goal and that’s what I’m looking for, to be able to turn, play one-twos with players around me and be able to score goals.”
Analysing current form, following four points from our previous four Sky Bet Championship matches, James admitted it was a frustrating end against Wrexham, with the standards within the group set much higher.
“We felt like we controlled the game for the most part,” the 21-year-old reflected. “We lost our way in the last 20 minutes, but we were clearly the better team and should have taken the three points. For us, it felt like two points dropped.

“Four draws is four unbeaten, but we know that at this Club draws aren’t good enough. We’re not going into games wanting to draw. We want to get three points every game, no matter who we play.”
The visit to Swansea.com Stadium is our final fixture ahead of October’s international window, with James potentially set for further national team involvement this month, providing an added incentive to finish on a high by claiming a positive result against the Swans.
The Wales midfielder added: “Unfortunately, we weren’t able to get the result (vs. Wrexham) but we’re looking forward to Swansea. We need to correct things on Saturday. It is a big game for us to change things. If we can go into the break with three points, it would be massive for us.
“They will be very good on the ball. We know that, so it should be a good game for the fans watching. I know a few lads from Swansea from being with Wales, so I want to get one over on them before going to camp so I can get the bragging rights, that would be lovely.”
