  • James gave his account of a thrilling ending to Saturday’s Carrow Road encounter
The midfielder’s injury-time header secured the three points at Carrow Road on Saturday afternoon, ending a run of five without a win in the Sky Bet Championship, turning things around after the hosts led through Mathias Kvistgaarden’s goal.
Reflecting on a much-needed success in East Anglia, the loanee was elated to play his part in elevating the Foxes back up into the top half of the table.

He told us post-match: “It’s the first header I’ve ever scored, so in that sense it was really nice! I think it shows the quality that we have. Abdul [Fatawu] on the wing, in the 90th minute, putting a ball in like that, I was able to attack it really well and my main focus was to keep it down. I was able to do that and then the celebrations were wild.
“You have to enjoy yourself after a game like that. You never know how many goals you're going to score in your career, hopefully many more, but you have to enjoy those moments and it was a really good day for me.”
Substitute Bobby De Cordova-Reid also played his part by scoring an impressive equaliser, prior to James stealing the headlines, netting for the third time since joining on loan from Rennes.
“It shows how much we are together now,” he continued. “It was a collective. It wasn’t just me who won the game, we did it as a collective. The way we fought for each other, I think you could really see it on the pitch today.

“That’s something that we’ve really focused on in the last few weeks, being more together. We’ve had a few chats about trying to help each other out off the pitch and on the pitch. You can see that togetherness and how we are fighting.”
A difficult run of form now behind us, the 21-year-old hopes to kick on when we return to action in two weeks’ time, having been able to send the 2,022 travelling Foxes fans home happy.
“It’s massive, especially just before the international break,” the Wales international added. “You don’t want to go into it feeling down and not in a good place, so for us to be able to get those three points is massive for both us and the fans. The fans needed it, they deserve it. They travelled a long way to get here and it was nice to reward them with a last minute goal.”
