The 25-year-old forward, who can play in a variety of attacking positions, adds firepower to Martí Cifuentes’ squad, staying with the Foxes until the end of the 25/26 season.
It’s an exciting move for the Argentinian, whose CV also includes stints with Inter Miami and Philadelphia Union, before netting in the UEFA Champions League last term during his debut year in senior European football for Feyenoord.
He is looking forward to beginning a new chapter with the Foxes, who go into the international break on a high, sitting fourth in the Sky Bet Championship with three wins from four.
“I’m really happy and really excited to be here,” Julián told us on Deadline Day. “I’m really thankful for this opportunity so I cannot wait to get started.

“When the opportunity came up, of course I didn’t have any single doubt about it. We all know about Leicester City as a team, as an institution as well.
“I have some experience in different places. Of course, this is a new experience as well. Everyone wants to play in England. Every single player wants to play here, so I’m really excited.
“My favourite league is the Premier League. I don’t miss any games in the Premier League! I’ve been watching Leicester for a long time so, as I said, I know the team, I know the institution as well. We all know around the world what this team is.”
Having spoken with Cifuentes, the Oncativo-born forward is enthusiastic about the plans for the future at Leicester, believing he’ll fit in well with the Manager’s tactical ideas.
“Yesterday I came into the training facility and met some people and it was really nice to be honest,” he added. [The training ground was] much better than what I was expecting and I was expecting something really good.
“I’m really happy about that, so let’s get going! Yesterday I had a nice conversation [with the Manager] in his office. He was there when I got here, so we had a nice little chat. We just shared some stuff. I’m sure within the [coming] days we’ll get to speak more about the tactics and all of that, but he gave me a warm welcome. From what I spoke to him about yesterday and his idea, we need to be protagonists [in games].

“Our conversation was really good about football and how he wants to play. I’m really excited to be with this team, with him as a coach, and I like his idea. That’s one of the main [reasons] why I’m here.
“[The fans] can, for sure, expect somebody who’s going to play 100 per cent in every single game. I’ll try to give everything for the badge, for the defence, for everyone, for this institution as well.
“I like to make runs in behind. I like to play as a no.9 but I can also play as a second striker and have a little bit more combination with players. That’s something that I spoke to the coach [about] yesterday, something that he was looking for.
“I believe nowadays, of course, you have no.9s but it’s good to have a no.9 that can also play. At the end of the day, we want to win. If I can give assists to my team-mates, that will be perfect as well.
“At this point, I’ve been through a lot of situations on the field in matches. You’re always confident. If you don’t have confidence in yourself, it’s hard to score and hard to do good. That’s something that I do have. I’m used to being in those situations, so we just need to be calm and score as many goals as possible.”
