We kick-start the 26/27 season at Meadow Lane to face Notts County
AFC Wimbledon travel to King Power Stadium for Boxing Day clash
Russell Martin’s side face Wycombe Wanderers on New Year’s Day
Leicester host Cambridge United at home to close out season
With us heading towards the 26/27 League One season and following the annual release of our fixtures, we’ve picked out key dates when the Foxes are booting up for action.
The opening day – Notts County (A)
Russell Martin’s men start their bid to return to the Sky Bet Championship with a trip to Meadow Lane versus newly-promoted Notts County on 15 August, 3pm BST kick-off.
The Magpies sealed their League One status by beating Salford City 3-0 in the play-off final. The return fixture, meanwhile, will be played at King Power Stadium on 6 March.
Boxing Day football – AFC Wimbledon (H)
King Power Stadium will be the home of festive football this year, as we host AFC Wimbledon in a Boxing Day clash after matches against Cambridge, Sheffield Wednesday and Reading earlier in the month.
After winning promotion from Sky Bet League Two in 2025, the Dons finished 19th last term and will be looking for an improvement this season as they settle at this level. To close out 2026, on 29 December, the Foxes face Leyton Orient at Brisbane Road.
New Year's Day – Wycombe Wanderers (A)
With the calendar resetting, Leicester hit the road to start 2027 and take on Wycombe Wanderers at Adams Park. This will be our first encounter with Wanderers since 2013, when a last-gasp Sean St Ledger goal sealed our safe passage in the Carabao Cup.
We later host the Chairboys on 26 March in an Easter weekend double-header.
Easter action – Wycombe (H) & AFC Wimbledon (A)
The second part of our Easter weekend double-header is a visit to AFC Wimbledon on 29 March in what will be an action-packed Bank Holiday weekend for the Foxes. Plough Lane opened in 2020, and the 9,000-seater stadium will be one of our three trips to London this year, along with Leyton Orient and Bromley.
We also host Wycombe at King Power Stadium on Friday 26 March.
The final day – Cambridge United (H)
We end our 26/27 campaign at home to newly-promoted Cambridge United on 8 May, who clinched their spot in the division via an automatic promotion place in League Two last season. They were promoted alongside Bromley and MK Dons, finishing third in League Two, just a single point above Salford City.
