  • Leicester City in the Community Coordinator is recognised in the 2025 Football Black List
  • Aura Chacón has been honoured in the Barclays Community and Grassroots category
  • She first started working for the Club’s charitable arm five years ago
Among this year’s high-profile honourees are Premier League players Eberechi Eze and Alex Iwobi, Lionesses European Championship winner Jess Carter, Manchester United CEO Omar Berrada, and former Leicester City First Team Coach Kolo Touré, all recognised for their outstanding contributions and positive influence within football.
Founded in 2008 by Leon Mann MBE and Rodney Hinds, the Football Black List is a highly respected initiative celebrating the achievements of Black individuals across the sport, from players and coaches to executives, media professionals and grassroots leaders. In a historic milestone, this year’s list features more women than men, highlighting continued progress in representation.
Aura, Active Women Coordinator at Leicester City in the Community, has been recognised in the Barclays Community and Grassroots category, which celebrates those delivering football at a local level and inspiring positive change within their communities.
Having joined the organisation five years ago as a casual member of staff, she completed an apprenticeship and then progressed into a full-time Community Coach role and now leads initiatives as Active Women Coordinator.
Her dedication and impact within the local community have been instrumental in driving engagement and participation, and her recognition reflects both her professional development and her ongoing commitment to creating inclusive opportunities through football.
Commenting on the achievement, Aura said:“I am extremely honoured. I was not expecting it at all! I love working within local communities encouraging participation in sport, especially in those areas where there are potential barriers to taking part and am incredibly grateful to my colleagues at Leicester City in the Community for giving me the opportunity and helping me to progress.
“I am so passionate about helping people to live healthier lives so to be recognised for something I enjoy doing so much is even more rewarding.”
Community Development Manager, and Aura’s line manager, Sarah Jones added: “We are incredibly proud of Aura and all that she has achieved during her time with us. Over the past five years, she has shown tremendous growth, commitment and passion for her work. It has been a pleasure to support her journey, and this recognition is thoroughly deserved.”
All 2026 Football Black List honourees will be formally presented with their awards at a celebration event in April, where Aura will be publicly recognised for her continued contributions to the game.
We are extremely proud of Aura and can’t wait to see what she does next with Leicester City!
