Our new Danish centre-forward, who found the net against us at Ashton Gate last season, arrived from Bristol City on Tuesday afternoon, signing a four-year deal which runs until 2030.

Bringing a lot of experience, the forward hopes this will result in goals and learnings for the younger ones in the group.

“I’m really excited and I can’t wait to get going,” Riis announced from inside Seagrave, during his first interview since joining. “It’s going to be great for me; I’m really excited to come and play for the fans and hopefully score some goals.

The 28-year-old has signed a contract until 2030.

“I spoke to the gaffer (Russell Martin), and he explained how he wants to play and what he needs from me. It’s a massive club, with a big plan moving forward, and that’s why I’m here.

“I like to be in the box and be in the right place at the right time. I’ve played a lot of games over here (in England) and there’s quite a few young lads here, so hopefully I’ll be able to help them too.

“From what I hear, they are doing really well and I want to help push them in the right direction.”

Speaking on his memories of playing Leicester in the past, he also went on to explain why his ambitions match that of the Club, and how he is ready to give everything he has when wearing a Foxes shirt.

The striker joins us from Bristol City.

The 28-year-old added: “I had, probably a good memory for Leicester fans last year, when I missed the penalty at King Power Stadium, but I’m very excited to meet the fans and score a lot of goals for them.

“There are going to be times in the season when we need the fans to help push us over the line, so they are important and when we score goals it’s great to be able to celebrate with them.

“The aim is to get promoted. I want to help with that, I don’t have personal goals, I’m just here to fight for the Club.”
