Women’s football is back this weekend, and it’s starts on the road, with the Foxes making the short trip to take on the Blades at the club’s main home, Bramall Lane.

A first competitive fixture since our relegation from the top division, the summer has seen an abundance of changes throughout Rick Passmoor’s squad, as we look to begin our next chapter.

Foxes news

We've made eight signings over the summer.

Seven new faces have come through the door at Belvoir Drive, including defenders Leah Eddie and Jessie Stapleton, midfielders Jess Ziu and Libby Bance, and forward Poppy Pritchard, Paulina Nyström and Araya Dennis (who is with us on loan from Tottenham Hotspur).

Sarah Mayling, who made a positive impression at right-back during her loan spell last term also rejoins us on a permanent deal while Swedish midfielder Emilia Pelgander is back in Leicester blue following her time on loan at HB Køge.

Over the summer, we played six behind-closed-door friendlies, which saw us face strong opposition such as Manchester United, Everton and Liverpool in our preparation for the opening day.

Looking at Sheffield United

Our hosts this weekend are going to be looking for an improvement themselves this season, having survived relegation following an 11th placed finish.

Winning four of their 22 games, they have reinforced their ranks with the additions of Lucy Quinn, Halle Houssein and Sophie Harwood to improve their chances in the second tier.

Led by Stephen Healy, they will be hoping to get off to a winning start on home turf this Sunday afternoon.

Tickets are available via the Sheffield United official website. Priced at just £10 for adults and £5 for seniors, juniors and students, this is a great chance to join us on the road.

If you’re looking for an easy journey up the M1, then choose our Fox Travel, which is priced at £22.50 per person and delivers you, by coach, from King Power Stadium to Bramall lane.

Please note the coach will depart at 11am, but we advise supporters to arrive no later than 30 minutes prior. Hot and cold beverages are available on board (cash payments only).
