LCFC Women were beaten by Brighton & Hove Albion on Sunday

Manager Rick Passmoor shared his thoughts on the performance
The tough run in 2026 continued for LCFC Women who were on the receiving end of a 1-0 loss to Brighton at the weekend, keeping us rooted to the bottom of the Barclays Women’s Super League table. Admitting it was a difficult result to take, he urged his side to stick together and focus on the job in hand, which returns in four weeks' time against London City Lionesses.
“It’s a tough one,” Passmoor told the media. “We have to reflect and review. We’ve got plenty of time to prepare for the home run coming up so we need to have a look at what we did well today.
Leicester lost 1-0 to Brighton last weekend.
“There were parts in and out of possession where we’ve done well and you can see the group are still together. The work rate and understanding was good and we’ll look forward to the next game against London City.
“We knew this season was going to be a challenge and we’re in that challenge right now. Players, staff, we all stick together, we’re aligned, and we make sure we have the right culture behind the scenes and we look forward to the games coming up.”
Struggling to find the net has been the main cause for concern this season, scoring just nine times in the league, almost half of the next side, West Ham United.
Four WSL games remain this season.
He went on to discuss how he believes that process must be stronger in the build-up play, to enable us to create more chance, that will in turn translate into goals.
“I think it’s about creating the chances as well,” Passmoor continued. “It might be the final pass; it might be about looking after the ball instead of rushing it but that’s just where we are in terms of confidence.
“You just need a scruffy goal and that will probably change the whole momentum and the outlook for the rest of the season."
