LCFC Women drew 1-1 with Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday
Hannah Cain forced a second half own goal from Spurs
The Welsh forward reacted to the point at King Power Stadium
Following three home wins on the bounce, the Foxes camp were a little deflated after a 1-1 draw with Spurs last weekend, despite taking a point. This attitude does show the improved confidence within the side to take a two-point drop to heart, which Cain amplified in her post-match interview.
“It’s quite frustrating,” our No.21 stated. “We’ve been doing well at home and the performance wasn’t as good as we have been playing but it’s still a point and not a loss, so we have to take the positives.
“We’ll know more when we review it but we just didn’t quite get the rhythm right today. The second half was better, but it was a transitional game.
“I’m a bit disappointed to not score but Lize Kop is amazing, we know that. It was a good save and fortunately it rebounded off them but as always, a goal is a goal.”
The individual now joins up with her international team-mates for duty, which she believes will provide a nice change of scenery in the schedule, before returning to Belvoir Drive for the final four preparations.
“We are playing well, and we need to focus on that,” Cain continued. “There are always things you can improve on. We need to not get too down on the draw today and keep moving forward.
“It's another tough game against Arsenal when we first come back, but another exciting opportunity where we can show ourselves.”
