At 29-years-old, the winger’s addition to the squad offered valuable experience in the frontline, having spent the majority of the last decade in north London with Tottenham Hotspur.
Four games into the season, our No.32 is starting to hit her stride, scoring her first goal on her first start, against Ipswich on Wednesday night, having made an impressive cameo against Chelsea last weekend.
Happy to get back on the scoresheet, Ayane shared her reaction to a big win in Essex, that leaves Leicester top of Group D.

“It feels very special, I’ve missed that feeling,” the winger stated. “It's my first start, which I was very happy with, but to get a goal is special. To be honest, it’s not about me. We got the job done and the second half performance was what we’re about.
“I’m trying my best, I’m really happy to be here and I want to show that with my performances on the pitch.
“It is a great start and I hope that continues but I’m just going to keep giving my best for the team, and whatever that looks like; scoring, getting assists or sprinting back to defend our box.”
Always wanting to give her all for the team, Ayane was impressed with our second-half display, which included four City goals, and hopes we can bring that into the weekend when we return to league action for the visit of her former employers, Spurs.

“It’s a massive game,” Ayane explained. “The WSL2, I don’t think anyone underestimates it, there’s some good teams in this division so it’s always going to be a tough game, and they showed that in the first half.
“We weren’t at our best but in the second half we really showed up and that’s the momentum you take into WSL games.
“We played really well against Chelsea. We didn’t get the result we wanted but the performance was there.
“The result tonight with the performance was good, and let’s see if we can get both of those on Sunday.”
