Sam Tierney and Celeste Boureille sidelined with major injuries
Goalkeeper Olivia Clark a doubt as Katie Keane could return
A timeline was provided for the return of Olivia McLoughlin and Emma Jansson
Leah Eddie will also miss this weekend with an injury
Just two games into the season and the squad has already taken a hit with injuries, the most recent being the captain suffering an ACL injury in our 4-2 win over Durham at King Power Stadium.
Wishing her well in her recovery, the Manager stated that the squad are a tight-knit group and are working well despite the concern over injuries, before providing an update on some of the longer-term absentees, such as Emma Jansson and Olivia McLoughlin.
Emma Jansson and Olivia McLoughlin are nearing a return.
“In terms of spirit and togetherness, we’re in a good space and the players are taking a lot of ownership for that,” Passmoor told the media. “They have a good cohesion between each other.
“And that’s been heavily needed because of the circumstances of the injuries. Last weekend, Liv Clark picked up a light ankle injury, Emma is looking to be back in training mid-October, so is Liv.
“We’ve confirmed Sam has suffered an ACL injury, so she starts her rehab now with the backing of the team, Celeste [Boureille] is also a long-term absentee.”
Leah Eddie came off in the second half at Bramall Lane on the opening day.
Scottish centre-half, Leah Eddie, was taken off in the second half of our Sheffield United win, and will miss out against Ipswich this Sunday, but with injury concerns over Olivia Clark, Katie Keane is back in contention for the matchday squad once again.
“Leah [Eddie] should be in and around the squad next week, and then we’ll just evaluate how she progresses,” the Manager continued.
“Katie [Keane] missed out last weekend, but we’ve progressed her and she’s done well over the week and has joined in more sessions, so she will be considered for the squad this weekend.”
