This weekend sees the Foxes take part in a first-ever WSL Play-Off, held between the WSL1’s bottom-placed side, and the WSL2’s third-placed side.
With Birmingham City and Crystal Palace already promoted to the top division, Leicester will be hoping to take the second chance of a play-off game to complete the line-up for next season.
Ahead of our most important game of the campaign, which kicks off at 12:30pm BST at the Valley, the Manager has been speaking to the media…
‘This gives us another opportunity’
We ended the regular season with a narrow loss to Everton at Goodison Park.
We ended the regular season with a narrow loss to Everton at Goodison Park.
Our fifth consecutive year in the WSL has seen us finish bottom for the first time, however, unlike previous seasons, our battle is not yet over.
Should we beat Charlton at their home this weekend, safety will be secured, but defeat in a one-match shootout, will see us back in the second division.
“The Club have backed us since I walked in early September,” Passmoor opened with. “We knew it would be a challenge, and we wanted to do it without going into this final game.
“But this gives us another opportunity and how the players have trained, we’re looking forward to Saturday. What you have to be aware of, is how the women’s game is progressing and it’s a big ask to stay in the WSL.
“We’re creating the environment and our own identity, and we need to make sure we have consistency within the women’s side so that we can build on it.
“We want to be a mid-table side in a few years’ time, but we understand the challenge that poses, but we're here to fight for it. It’s a challenge everyone has accepted and have done the best they can for this Football Club, and they’ll keep doing that.”
‘We’ve got a massive support’

No one deserves to end the season on a high more so than the Leicester faithful, who have travelled in their numbers across the country, most recently to Goodison Park, where we finished the regular season.
Wanting to give those supporters something to celebrate, our Manager explained how important their voices will be in London this Saturday.
“We’ve got a massive support, and a lot of numbers coming down this weekend,” Passmoor continued. “So, we need to make sure we retain our WSL1 status.
“After four or five years of being in the WSL, but towards the bottom end, we want to grow that. We want to be more competitive within the WSL to make sure we’re not in this position in the following seasons.”
‘We know it’s going to be a fight’

We head to the Valley to face Charlton this Saturday.
Despite Charlton playing in a lower division, Saturday’s play-off will not be a foregone conclusion, with home advantage and confidence from a positive season working in the Addicks' favour.
Finishing third with 42 points, Karen Hills' side lost out on automatic promotion on the final day, and are looking for a first win in six, but Passmoor understands the challenge we’re about to face.
He continued: “We need to be at it in both boxes. They are a well-organised side that have a good structure and principle of play.
“They’ve been top of the league for many months and the standard and financial backing many teams have, shows how amazing they’ve done.
“A WSL1 team used to be able to go and beat WSL2 sides comfortably, but that isn’t happening anymore.
“We know that it is going to be a fight, and it might be one of those end-of-season games that isn’t pleasant and might not be free-flowing football.
“But we’ve got to have the mentality and get the basics well on the pitch, to make sure we come out on top of a big game.
“We need to wear the shirt with pride and make sure that we are in WSL1 come the end of the game.”
