One of eight English sides to take part in the competition, we have three games over Thursday and Friday that will determine whether we make it into Saturday's semi-finals.
Taking place at Gtech Community Stadium in west London, City got started in the capital heat against London City Lionesses, who we beat twice in all competitions during the regular season.
We started our World Sevens with a win against London City.
An opportunity for players to play with some freedom, we took the lead after just five minutes through Nelly Las. Looking comfortable in a seven-a-side match, we continued to create chances.
Rosella Ayane then doubled our advantage in the second half, and even though London City halved their deficit in the final minutes, it wasn't enough to spark a comeback, and we held on for an opening day win.
The Foxes then enjoyed a three-hour break, taking in refreshments and watching the action unfold at the home of Brentford, before facing Chelsea in the final game of the day.
Losing 3-1 to one of the tournament's favourites, Noémie Mouchon found the net for us, scoring early on with a brilliant effort into the top left-hand corner.
The Foxes are one from two after the first round of fixtures.
Thursday's results mean we closed the day with three points, leaving us third in Group 1, with one game remaining against Everton on Friday, kicking off at 5pm.
Should we be successful, Saturday's semi-finals await, taking place at 11am and 12pm, before the World Sevens Final at 2:30pm.
You can catch all the action live on Sky Sports, with day tickets still available. All times BST.
