LCFC Women travel to Silverlake Stadium this Sunday to face Southampton
The two sides meet once more in the Subway Players Cup following the league fixture
Rick Passmoor provided a fitness update, explaining players have been hit with the flu
Up against Southampton once more this weekend, this time with the roles reversed as we travel to Silverlake Stadium for our third fixture in the Subway Players Cup, the Manager has provided an update on his squad.
Explaining how several players, such as Emilia Pelgander and Sarah Mayling, have struggled with flu symptoms during the week, he hopes to have others available to face the Saints (2pm GMT kick-off).
"Liv Clark, Leah Eddie, Emma Jansson, Sam Tierney, Jess Ziu and Celeste Bourielle are all working hard with the medical team, but all of them will be out until at least mid-December, when we might get the first, if any, back on the grass," he started off by explaining during Friday's press conference.
The Manager confirmed Pelgander has missed parts of training this week with the flu.
"The big thing this week has been the flu, we had a few down with the illness leading into last weekend's game and that has continued this week.
"We have had modified training at the start of the week because of player availability. Olivia McLoughlin has got over it, and she is in and around the team more so now. Sarah Mayling struggled as well but is in full training.
"Emilia [Pelgander] only returned to the team environment on Friday, once more, because she has been shut down with an illness.
"A couple of players from the Academy who have been in and around the First Team have suffered. Both Beau King and Ffion Bowen haven't trained this week either, so that has been the main problem for us this week."
