Having missed out on the first part of the season with injury, the forward ended the season on a high with three goals in the last two, including a double against the Hammers.
Playing her part in a record fifth win of the season, Cain acknowledged the turmoil of the season but was proud to go out on a positive note.

“It’s been a tough season, we’ve had a mixed bag of results and performances but what a way to go out, in front of the home fans,” she stated in her post-match interview.
“I haven’t had too many chances this season, but when I have, things haven’t quite gone to plan but I’ve been in a good run of form recently.
“It’s just a shame the end of the season has come, but it’s always great to score and made it a perfect day. I wanted to get my first goal back in the WSL at home, and it’s so special for me this place so I loved it.”

Reflecting on the campaign as a whole, the 26-year-old wants to take the learnings and good form she produced into this year’s UEFA Women’s European Championships.
“There are loads of positives to take from the season,” the Wales international continued. “Of course, there’s struggles along the way but everyone has that. We’ve done amazing and the girls should be proud of that.
“I’ve been in good form and even though the season has finished, it doesn’t mean my international one has so hopefully I can take this form into the Euros.”
