WSL1 expands to 14 teams for the 26/27 campaign

The expansion of WSL1 to 14 teams for the 26/27 season has seen the introduction of a new promotion/relegation play-off between the bottom-placed side in WSL1 and the third-placed team in WSL2 this season.

The winner of the play-off will compete in WSL1 next season and the defeated side will be in WSL2 for the 26/27 campaign.

Following the conclusion of the WSL2 season on Saturday afternoon, it was confirmed that the fixture will take place at Charlton’s home venue on Saturday 23 May (12:30pm BST kick-off) and will be broadcast live via Sky Sports and BBC Sport.

Confirmed venue and ticket details will be confirmed on LCFC.com in the coming days.
